"I don't think vampires can go senile, since that's an age thing and they don't. Age, I mean." He looked at the sketch and smiled. "Hey, that's really good! Personally I would have picked better subject matter, though," he joked.
"Seriously, though, I'd love your help. You said you have a journal of your own ancestor? From the same time period, and it mentions the vampires as well? Cool. Be nice to have more than one perspective, I might actually manage to get a passing mark in history if I turn in a good enough assignment." He frowned. "What's your call on the whole thing anyway? You believe in vampires?"

Erika felt her cheeks become warm again at his complement, "You're a perfect subject to draw." she said, hoping he wouldn't notice her blushing. Erika aimlessly played with a piece of her hair, "I think my ancestor was crazy though. She was in love with a Salvatore." she said, then realizing she just called herself crazy, causing her cheeks to become even redder. She'd have a hard time explaining that one, "I'm sure Mr.Saltzman knows what went on this year and maybe he'll cut you some slack. History is an easy class though, when you're paying attention." Erika watched him frown at her, "Do I believe in vampires? Well, yeah I guess I do. I mean why not? It's very possible that they do still wander around Mystic Falls and we just don't know it. Maybe the animal attacks could just be a cover up, you know?" she said, still very aware that she cheeks were warm.

Jeremy wrinkled his nose. "If their ancestors are anything like they are, she must have been." He shook his head. "Hey, are you okay? You're kind of gone red and blotchy."

Erika laughed lightly, "Stefan's alright, sometimes. She was crazy about that one Salvatore though," She was trying to making her cheeks unred and not a warm as they were currently, "Um... you'd laugh if I told you why I was blushing, believe me." she said, well unsucessfully trying to get her face back to it's normal skin color.

Jeremy watched her for a minute, wondering what she wasn't telling him. Of course, if the ancestor of hers was in love with someone that was as obviously psychopathic as Stefan's brother Damon, he could certainly see why she wouldn't want to talk about it. It was on the tip of his tongue to ask her what had happened, if her ancestor had been killed by the Salvatore, but he thought better of it. Besides, maybe the answer would be in the journal, if he could get her to share it with him.
"Hey," he finally asked, realizing that he was just staring at her, "are you busy Friday, I guess tomorrow, night? Maybe we could, you know, get a burger or something and compare notes?"

Erika watched him just stare at her. She did wonder what he was thinking about though. She figured that she would have to actually find her journal to show it to Jeremy. She also figured that he'd have plently of questions as to why she has the same name and looks identical to her "ansestor". Erike held her hand up as if to say to Jeremy who was still staring at her, 'And...' She looked at him when he basically asked her out, "Not that I'm aware of, but yeah that sounds really fun. I'll uh, find her journal and bring it. It's a good, yet scary read at the same time..." she said.

"Yeah, insanity can be a little scary. It seems to run in my family. What was her name? Your ancestor, I mean. Maybe she's mentioned in Jonathan's journal." He shook his head. How could anyone in this day and age actually believe in the existence of vampires? He wasn't really sure he did, but it seemed to be what she had expected him to say.
"Hey, maybe we can convince this new librarian to let us into the restricted basement archives and look around. Mrs. Fauville never would. It would be cool if we found other writings from the same time period, wouldn't it?"

Erika smiled at him, "I think it more crazy ideas than actual instanity than runs in the Gilbert line." she said, "her name well, it's Erika Mirazida, I have no idea how or why we have the exact same name, but we do. It's really cool, yet wierd at the sae time." she said, smiling brightly, "I think she's the one who bought the old Parson's place, so I can see if she'll let us, I mean she is my new neighbor." Erika smiled.

"It's not that unusual to have the same name as an ancestor. I do have an Uncle John Gilbert, remember?" Not that he actually liked the man, he added to himself.
"Wait, you mean the new librarian actually bought the Haunted Mansion?" Jeremy laughed. "We used to go in there when we were kids, just to scare the hell out of each other. Mom was furious when she found out." His smile faltered at the pain of rememberance of those days, of having his parents alive. He shook his head as if to clear the dark thoughts. "So, yeah, Friday. Want to just meet here or what?"

Erika smiled at Jeremy again, "He doesn't seem to be a very nice person." she said. She watched his smile fade when he talked about his parents, "I don't really remember mine all that well." concidering the fact that they died oh, a hundred and somethin years ago, but he didn;t need to know that, "Yeah sure thing, we can just meet up here if you want." she said, looking at him.

Jeremy stood up. "Great, yeah. I gotta go. See you tomorrow at school and what, about six here? And don't forget the journal."

Erika watched him stand, "I'll be here, and at school. I won't forget it." she said, smiling, "Hey, maybe if you're going to the career thing tonight, I'll see you there as well." she said.

LATER THAT NIGHT...
Jeremy wandered around the school gym pretending to be halfway interested in any of the potential careers being showcased. Mostly he was looking for someone to allieviate the boredom of having to be at the school after hours. He looked up to the end of the hallway and watched Elena walking towards him.

Elena was looking for Stefan, she had to tell him about the run-in with Logan Fell. She smiled as she saw Jeremy at the end of the hallway. She walked over to where he was standing, "Did Jenna make you come to this? Or are you actually interested in any of the careers here?" Elena asked, completely serious, "Or are you looking for a certain someone?" she asked, hinting about her best friend.

Jeremy grinned at his sister. "None of the above, and stop trying to set me up with someone you think is better for me," he replied. "You know I'm only here because Jenna made me come. This whole thing is ridiculous, like we're going to see a poster about something and say 'oh, hey, yeah, that's what I want to waste the rest of my life doing'. Give me a break." He did wonder, though, what Erika might have said to her already.
